Gostiny Dvor
Gostiny Dvor is an architectural monument located in the very heart of the Russian capital, not far from the Kremlin.
According to one version, the history of Gostiny Dvor dates back to the 16th century, when Ivan the Terrible ordered to erect the first wooden building on Ilyinka Street for foreign merchants arriving in Moscow with their goods.

By decree of Catherine the Great, Italian architect Giacomo Quarenghi developed a project to reconstruct Gostiny Dvor. The grandeur and elegance of the enormous at the time trading complex greatly influenced the appearance of the entire Kitay-Gorod district, a historical area of Moscow.

Today, Gostiny Dvor is not only a monument but also a modern exhibition center, equipped with everything essential for holding international events. For many years, it has hosted one of the major literature events, the Nonfiction Book Fair, and in 2024, Gostiny Dvor will for the first time welcome participants and guests of the International Literature Forum.
