Just a while ago, literature successfully competed with cinema and television, but today, writers’ popularity largely depends on whether they are noticed by moviemakers. Playwrights are going into screenwriting en masse; young poets also seek to become part of a show, joining poetry slams or theaters.

Does this mean that texts have lost this game?
